Beginner Course Description Approximately 5 Miles
This course was designed for beginning and family cyclists and follows a generally level or gently downhill terrain, with the lone significant uphill climb occurring between Colewood Way/River Valley and River Valley/Johnson Ferry.
The ride originates from the Hitson Center and includes Heards Ferry, Riverside, River Valley, Johnson Ferry, and Sandy Springs Circle . The Beginner/ Family riders will be escorted during the ride . Typically, most riders have completed the Beginner/Family route in 30-45 minutes and family riders have increasingly included their children/grandchildren on the ride.
Intermediate Course Description Approximately 12.4 Miles
The Intermediate Course has significant stretches of gentle terrain, but it also includes significant, steep downhill terrain ( from Old Powers Ferry to New Northside).The significant uphill climbs ( Long Island in vicinity of Montessori School to Long Island/ Londonberry as well as from Crest Valley/ Northside to Riverview/Northside)have been eliminated from this year’s course .
Advanced Course Description Approximately 30 miles
Advanced riders will follow the intermediate route back to Mt Vernon Highway and then proceed east , crossing over Roswell Road, looping into the far boundaries of Dunwoody and then returning to the Hitson Center. The area east of Roswell Road provides some significant and challenging climbs for the advanced rider.
Advanced Course. 40-45 miles. The exact route for the 40-45 mile route is being finalized. We anticipate finalization of the route very soon.
